JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

The Payroll Specialist is primarily responsible for performing procedures assigned by the engagement Senior Payroll Specialist and/or Payroll Manager. Such procedures may vary with the nature and scope of the engagement and the experience of the Payroll Specialist.

In all phases of an engagement, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for conducting the work in accordance with the quality standards of the Company and of the profession.

The Payroll Specialist may assume the role of Senior Payroll Specialist depending on the set-up, requirement, size, and complexity of the engagement.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Engagement Management

  • Understand payroll principles, taxation, and relevant laws sufficiently to perform the job.
  • Review, update and understand fully the client’s standard payroll process or engagement manual.
  • Execute the procedures in the work program assigned to him/her by the engagement Senior Payroll Specialist and/or Payroll Manager.
  • Update superiors of work progress; give feedback on work performed, difficulties encountered, and issues identified. Log and report all issues encountered.
  • Upon instruction/approval by the Payroll Manager, communicate with the client any payroll instructions clarifications, issues, etc.
  • Make effective use of job-related tools like Dorado Payroll System, Nexus, Office 365, other payroll related systems, and Government agency portals (Social Security System/Philippine Health Insurance Corporation/Home Development Mutual Fund/Bureau of Internal Revenue).
  • Produce deliverables that are always accurate and complete.
  • Submit deliverables within set deadlines and ensure that the deliverables are sent to the authorized recipients and right addresses and appropriately marked for confidentiality where necessary.
  • Assume new or different work assignments and schedules willingly. Modify work methods to meet changing needs of the team or client, without compromising ethical standards.
  • Seek and recommend efficient and effective ways to accomplish objectives better.
  • Show receptiveness to new ideas. Perform new and different approaches with a positive attitude and commitment to success.
  • Perform any task or assignment that may be delegated by a superior, such as administrative work, monitoring, etc.


Relationship Management

  • Promote the image of the Parent Firm, and Company as a provider of high-quality services through good customer relations and responsiveness to clients’ needs, concerns, and requests.
  • Work harmoniously and effectively with other members of the team.
  • Actively participate in official parent firm, and company activities such as strategic planning, team-building sessions, monthly socials, and outings.
  • Always maintain a “can-do” and positive attitude in accepting assignments and working with any other personnel.


Professional Development

  • Attend on-the-job training or internal/external seminars for professional development.
  • Request from the Senior Payroll Specialist and/or Payroll Manager the Performance Appraisal Reports (PARs) for each engagement.
  • Comply with all required examinations and trainings initiated by the Division (Probationary Exam, Diagnostic Exam, etc.).
  • Participate in all internal audits of the Division (AS, ISAE, IQCR, etc.) and in external audits only when it is part of the engagement.
  • Accomplish Individual Development Plan and discuss it with the assigned coach.
  • Reach out to mentor and attend mentoring and coaching activities.


Administrative Functions

  • Comply with the Parent Firm, and Company administrative processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in suggesting improvements in the Parent Firm, and Company’s processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete all required monitoring and surveys in a timely manner.
  • Complete and submit accurate time reports in a timely manner.
  • Always ensure confidentiality of engagement. Staff should not disclose or make use of any information that he/she may acquire during the engagement other than to properly perform his/her work in connection therewith.
